HistoryWe have been a specialist UK manufacturer of self adhesive label solutions for over 40 Years.

Originally started in 1969 from a small shop (left) in Penkridge, Staffordshire, England, the business has grown organically and by acquisition to become a brand and market leader in its niche markets.

» 1990’s Moved from trade only work to selling to end users
» 1999 Expanded to new custom built premises in Staffordshire, UK
» 2002 MBO lead by new Managing Director Dr Adrian Steele
» 2003 Set the industry standard for fast deliveries with 3 day turnaround
» 2005 Transition to 2nd generation management team including Hugo Gell
» 2006 Adopted the next generation of digital label printing
» 2007 Security Labels International subsidiary established
» 2008 Launch of the LabelLock® range of non residue tamper evident security seals
» 2009 Celebrated our 40th anniversary – 1969-2009
» 2010 A C Labels acquired as a subsidiary of  Mercian Labels
» 2011 Launch of the Gammatex® range of Gamma Radiation Sterilisation Indicators
» 2012 Geoffrey Waldmeyer Associates acquired as a subsidiary of Mercian Labels
» 2013 Launch of digitally printed cartons & setup of a group holding company.
» 2014 45th Anniversary; doubling of our Derby factory; Relocation of our Cannock factory to a new 24,000 ft2 unit in Burntwood, quadrupling capacity, Merger of AC Labels into Mercian Labels.
» 2015 Installation of the world’s first Xeikon CX3 Cheetah – the fastest EP digital label machine ever
